Ms Lorie A Freeman was appointed Director of the National Bank of the Virgin Islands Limited (“the Bank”) in 2025.

Ms Freeman is the current Director of the Virgin Islands Social Security Board (VISSB). She has over 25 years of managerial and leadership experience in the Financial Services and Legal industries, encompassing various management, accounting, and finance roles. She promotes financial security, economic stability, and intergenerational equity. Ms Freeman is committed to ensuring that systems are well structured, effectively governed, and responsive to the evolving needs of their stakeholders. As Director, she emphasises collaboration with team members and stakeholders, and her expertise in financial management, governance, and policy development informs her strategic approach to strengthening organisational effectiveness.

She has served in key leadership roles, including Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer of the VISSB. Drawing on her experience as Chief Financial Officer, Ms Freeman was responsible for general financial management and the overall coordination of all functional areas of the organisation. She works closely with the Board of Directors on developing policies, goals, and strategies and implementing plans for the future of the VISSB. Her tenure has been marked by a commitment to advancing operational efficiency and fiscal stability.

Professional Qualifications:
Master of Science in Accounting and Finance – Southern New Hampshire University.
Bachelor of Arts in Accounting – University of the Virgin Islands
